Cougar athletes must maintain academic eligibility to participate in athletics. An eligibility report will be generated on Wednesday morning and a report listing athletes with more than 1 F grade will be sent to coaches. An athlete will lose eligibility (also known as being ineligible) for the following full week and cannot participate in competition. Athletes have Thursday and Friday to bring up grades and may regain eligibility if he/she raises his/her grades to no longer have more than 1 F grade. Notification is required from an athletes’ teacher(s) in writing to the Athletics office by Monday at 9am if an athlete has raised his/her grade to determine if eligibility has been regained. See the Athletics office with any questions.

Student Team Managers

The following is required for student managers:

  • Speak to Head Coach regarding this position and expectations
  • Current Physical on file in Athletics
  • Online registration
  • Must maintain eligibility (same expectation as athletes)

Signing Day

Cherokee Trail High School enjoys celebrating our athletes who have been signed to compete in athletics at the college level.

Cherokee Trail High School recognizes all student-athletes that have participated in a CHSAA sanctioned sport and have signed to play at the collegiate level.  This includes Division I, II and III as well as Junior College and preferred walk-ons.  Cherokee Trail also recognizes student-athletes that will be participating at the collegiate level in a CHSAA recognize sport whereas the school does not offer.  An example would be “rowing”.

In order for Cherokee Trail to include a student-athlete in our Signing Day Celebration, that student-athlete must participate for Cherokee Trail, compete in his/her Senior year, and/or finish the season in good standing and/or have previously lettered in the sport they are continuing to pursue in college. We do not recognize individuals who are playing “club” sport at the collegiate level. All student-athletes must provide documentation. Please reach out to our Athletic Department with any questions.
